Rebecca Bernstein
I am interested in the formation and evolution of normal galaxies and in developing new techniques and instruments for studying galaxies. On-going projects include: using the diffuse, intra-cluster stellar component of galaxy clusters to constrain their evolutionary history; obtaining detailed chemical abundances of systems of globular clusters in galaxies within 5 Mpc to constrain their formation history; and the design and fabrication of optical and near-infrared spectrographs for 8-m class and 30-m class telescopes.
