Biography, Education and Training
I graduated with my PhD from Leiden Observatory in the Netherlands after recieving my BSc and MASc from the University of Victoria, Canada. Interested in astronomical instrumentation, my research focuses on control for adaptive optics (AO). Specifically, high contrast imaging suffers for a temporal error in the AO system that can dramatically affect the contrast close-in to the host star. I work on predictive control to try to mitigate this problem. I have also worked on pyramid wavefront sensing, multi-mode optical fibers, and sub-mm data. Recently, I have been investigating some interesting light curves seen by Kepler.
Outside of work I enjoy hiking, biking, and reading.
